Didi Bjornerud was born in a small city called Gjovik in Norway in 1983.
Her grandparents had a secluded farm with a carpentry workshop deep in the iconic forests the country is so famous for. This is where she spent most of her summers as a child looking after the animals, crafting quirky ornaments in the workshop or simply wandering the vast woods with her grandmother who always used to captivate her with the local folklore and terrifying stories of trolls and other Nordic creatures.

Having a very innovative family, she developed an appreciation for design from a very early age.
At the age of 19 she decided to move to London to study at London College of Fashion.

During her course she was selected for transfer to do her BA in Textile Print Design at Central St Martins after being awarded a merit profile in recognition of her designs and artwork.
She graduated in 2007 and went on to work for her inspiration, the late icon Alexander McQueen, working on his AW/08 collection. Some of the projects she contributed to were recently displayed at the Savage Beauty exhibition at the V&A museum in London In recent years she has been creating various prints for high-end and contemporary fashion as well as artworks for public display and various branding projects with independent record labels.

There is a strong influence of Scandinavian nature and Nordic lore to her pieces, with ominous undertones and industrial surrealism being key themes throughout her work.
